Welcome to Polten & Associates, Lawyers and Notaries - a boutique law firm and an alternative to large law firms - with offices in downtown Toronto.

Our Focus: For over twenty years, our firm has been applying the highest standards of legal expertise and personal service to advising individual and business clients on cross-border matters involving the legal systems of German-speaking Europe and Canada. Our specialist expertise in dealing with cross-jurisdictional legal issues is augmented by our network of contacts with law firms and legal practitioners across Canada and the German-speaking world, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Key members of our Europe-based network are over 200 judges and lawyers who participated as Referendare, Praktikanten, Doktoranden and/or Studenten in our popular mentoring program, and who now occupy a range of responsible positions throughout Germany.

In addition to our three fully qualified Canadian lawyers, our firm employs one highly qualified native German law clerk who works under the supervision of our Canadian lawyers. While three members of our team are fluently bilingual - at a professional level - in English and German, the following languages are also spoken by at least one member: French and Spanish.
